America looked like a country to be scared of. Back then blacks were separate from whites and were tormented. Mr. Luther King Jr. and his speech and the Civil Right Movements brought us together. Blacks were treated like they were an airborne disease; if they were even in the same area it was bad. Now, we don't even notice it, it is normal, and that is great. There is no difference in people just because of their ethnicity. It was put into people’s heads, finally, that it doesn't matter what you look like, the only think that matters is who you really are on the inside.
These stories we have read have shown that a community can be built or destroyed by its history. It depends how the people of the city take it. Most of the time people grow stronger when they take a beating and that is exactly what a city should do. In this case and now, that isn't it is like now. We trash our cities and don't fix them. If you take a look at our poorer cities, we don't do much to fix them, they stay the way they are. We don’t put money in them; the city feels that they will just get ruined again. But internally, it builds the city stronger, it can take more of a beating before it completely crumbles.
